RESUMEN:

Cuando se habla de situaciones violentas dentro del aula escolar se limitan solo a los robos, las peleas o los destrozos de materiales e instalaciones del centro educativo. Sin embargo, las situaciones de violencia abarcan otro tipo de contextualización o hechos que no siempre se hacen explícitos o de los que no se habla. Esto sucede con el bullying término ingles utilizado para denominar la intimidación o el maltrato entre iguales. Esta investigación de tipo cuantitativa pretende reflexionar sobre el problema del maltrato entre iguales o fenómeno bullying e identificar las manifestaciones de este fenomeno detectadas tanto por docentes como por los estudiantes de una institucion educativa publica de la ciudad de sincelejo, los niveles de intimidación y los tipos de maltrato (verbales, psicologicos y fisicos) por medio de la aplicación del cuestionario sobre intimidación y maltrato entre iguales (ORTEGA, R., MORA-MERCHÁN, J.A. y MORA, J. 1995), que se presentan dentro del aula escolar y como a través de la convivencia escolar y el desarrollo de programas de intervención, se puede intentar prevenirlo.
